Farm to School Coalition of NC is excited to announce that Governor Cooper has proclaimed October as Farm to School Month in North Carolina.
Use the Governor’s proclamation as a template to approach your local policy makers about doing a proclamation, i.e., mayor, city council, county commissioners, board of education, etc.
October is National Farm to School Month, a time to celebrate the connections happening all over the country between children and local food! The
National Farm to School Network, along with countless partners, advocated for the creation of National Farm to School Month by Congress in 2010 (
House Resolution 1655).
As of this year, 2018, October is also Farm to School Month in North Carolina!
